Blank Verse Delivered in Many Compromising Positions

    Ben Brantley

March 22, 2012: Cheek by Jowl’s production of “’Tis Pity She’s a Whore” never seems to get out of bed. This is not to suggest that Declan Donnellan’s overheated, modern-dress interpretation of John Ford’s notorious 17th-century tragedy, which runs through March 31 at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, is in any way sleepy or sluggish.
