Theater: Mint Theatre / 311 West 43rd Street, New York, NY, 10036

    Synopsis:

Written by Teresa Deevy, Temporal Powers tells the moving story of a great love straining under the weight of conflicting passions. Desperate and destitute, Michael and Min Powers take refuge for the night in a crumbling ruin. Buried within the walls could be the answer to their prayers--money for a fresh start--if only they could agree to use it. What follows is a fierce moral struggle that no one can win.

Deevy's explosive drama won First Prize in the new play competition held by the Abbey Theatre in 1932.

A Couple’s Big Break That’s Not So Lucky

    Neil Genzingler

August 29, 2011: What’s the No. 1 thing couples fight about? Money. And a hard-luck pair is doing so with bedraggled elegance in “Temporal Powers,” another fine revival of a Teresa Deevy play by the Mint Theater Company.
