Jokes Aside, It's the Hips That Do the Job

December 3, 2001: So just where is the engine that propels the perpetual motion machine named John Leguizamo? Early evidence indicated that it might be the rubbery, jittery organ he referred to as ''Mambo Mouth,'' the title of this comic actor's cultural self-portrait of 1991, or the hyperactive brain that peeked through his glittering, restless eyes in subsequent shows like ''Spic-O-Rama'' and ''Freak,'' his Broadway debut.
