UNDER CONSTRUCTION NEW YORK TIMES REVIEW
Opening Night: April 21, 2011
Show
Did He Like It?*
Synopsis
New York Premiere! SITI Company, Anne Bogart and Charles Mee present a collage of America today, inspired by Norman Rockwell and contemporary installation artist Jason Rhoades. Under Construction juxtaposes the fifties and the present, red and blue states, where we grew up and where we live now in a piece that is -- like America -- permanently under construction.

"The set designer Neil Patel has filled the Dance Theater Workshop stage with construction props for Siti Company’s current production. Charles L. Mee’s script is presented as a malleable mash-up of scenes, “like America,/permanently under construction.” And the play’s title, just for good measure, is “Under Construction.” There is a serious thematic point being made by the director Anne Bogart and her ensemble, over and over again, with no room for miscommunication."
