Synopsis: The Other Josh Cohen tells the true story of a good guy trying to break a streak of incredibly bad luck. He's single, broke and just a few days before Valentine's Day, comes home to find his apartment has been completely robbed. Well, almost; the thief had the decency to leave behind a Neil Diamond CD. Six days later a mysterious letter arrives in his mailbox that changes his life forever. Will his Jewish guilt let him enjoy his good fortune? Will he ever be able to stop kicking himself if he doesn't? And will there ever be a time when nice guys finish first?

NEW YORK TIMES REVIEW:

"In the superb and sweetly funny “Other Josh Cohen,” at the SoHo Playhouse, the unendingly unlucky title mensch comes home a little before Valentine’s Day to find his New York apartment robbed — swabbed so clean by his industrious intruder that even his Bundt cake has been pilfered. All that the meticulous burglar left behind was one Neil Diamond CD (which, Josh hastens to add, he actually got free). He isn’t sure if the orphaned disc was an oversight or an indictment of his taste."

BACKSTAGE REVIEW:

"Imagine “Seinfeld” meets Rodgers and Hart as directed by Woody Allen. With book, music, and lyrics by David Rossmer and Steve Rosen, who both play the title character (one in the present and one a year ago), “The Other Josh Cohen” is a superlative musical laugh fest. It’s hard to know where to start heaping on the praise. The writing is ingeniously comic. The music is delicious. The lyrics are uproariously witty. The six multitalented cast members are divine. The direction is brilliant."

THEATERMANIA REVIEW:

"The Other Josh Cohen at Soho Playhouse could be described as a seriocomic thirty-something tale of romantic woe. Yet, thanks to the cleverness of co-authors David Rossmer and Steve Rosen and the ingeniousness of director Ted Sperling, this small-scale musical elicits rueful gales of laughter practically from word one."

ASSOCIATED PRESS REVIEW:

"The backdrop that frames the breezy musical comedy "The Other Josh Cohen" is a set of bare, white walls in a low-end New York apartment – unblemished if not for a few bright square patches where posters used to hang before a burglary stripped the title character of nearly everything, right down to a freshly-baked Bundt cake in his refrigerator."

THEATRE IS EASY REVIEW:

"BOTTOM LINE: A hilarious and self-deprecating new musical that tracks the bizarre turn of events in Josh Cohen’s life after his apartment is robbed."
