Did He Like It?
Synopsis
A biography of the phone and a haunting meditation on the nature of the disembodied voice, Telephone operates like a switchboard connecting places and people across time and space. Watson and Bell, Miss St. (Jung's notorious schizophrenic who thought she had a telephone inside her), and an assortment of 21st lovers on cell phones form a delicate and ferociously poetic work that asks what it means to "take the call" not knowing what or who will be on the other end.

"When it comes to making people question their sanity, few inventions have been as effective as the telephone. Surely you’ve had the experience of droning out a monologue to a friend and suddenly realizing that the connection has been lost and that you have been rattling on to no one. Or maybe to someone altogether different than whom you thought you were speaking with."
